"Fuji Single Malt Japanese Whisky" offers a glimpse into the Fuji Gotemba Distillery's dedication to single malt whisky-making and its evolutionary journey. Since its founding, the distillery has upheld the traditional "clean & estery" style, producing vibrant and elegant malt whiskies. Concurrently, it has pioneered innovative mashing and fermentation methods to create fruity, creamy malt whiskies. This single malt is a skillful marriage of these two malt whisky styles. The new malt whisky style developed in the 2010s has matured beautifully, exhibiting the intended luscious fruitiness, prompting its inclusion in this blend. In addition to the distillery's signature American white oak bourbon barrels, we have incorporated beer-matured and French oak wine-matured casks to impart a richer tapestry of flavors. The bourbon barrels lend sweet, floral notes, while the beer casks contribute floral nuances, and the wine casks add fruity depth and richness. By maximizing the diverse character of Fuji Gotemba's malt whiskies – from traditional to innovative styles – we have crafted a single malt whisky that embodies the majestic beauty and vibrant life force of Mount Fuji through its fruit-forward, luscious flavors. Enjoy it neat or with 1-3 teaspoons of water to explore the evolving aromas. As you gradually add water, the initial complex, sweet crème brûlée notes transform into ripe fruit tart, then fresh fruit cake, ultimately revealing floral, fruit-infused tea aromas.
