The "Date Blended Whisky" produced by Japan's Nikka Whisky at the "Sendai Miyagi Gorge Distillery" is a limited edition product from Miyagi Prefecture, made from Nikka Coffey Malt and Nikka Coffey Grain. The name of this whisky is inspired by the first lord of the Sendai domain in the Edo period of Japan, "Date Masamune". It has a slightly spicy taste upon entry, with caramel and fruity notes in the front, followed by creamy vanilla and a refreshing sweet and sour taste, finishing with a hint of dark chocolate and the bitterness of fruit peel.
