This product highlights the unique characteristics of Yoichiintense, heavy peated malt and oak aging. It is characterized by a rich, ripe aroma, mild sweetness, soft fruity harmony, soft smoky aromas, malty and peat bittersweetness, thick and full body, subtle oak sweetness, and a woody, substantial finish. .
About Yoichi Distillery
The Yoichi Distillery located in Hokkaido is known as the "Scotland of Japan". Its predecessor, Dainippon Juice Co., Ltd., was founded in 1934 by Taketsuru Masataka (also known as Massin). Masataka Taketsuru greatly appreciated Scotland's cool and humid climate, abundant water resources and noble and fresh air. Yoichi Located at the base of the Shakotan Peninsula west of Otaru, it was carefully selected from several possible locations. Masataka Taketsuru's goal in founding his first distillery was to create a malt whiskey that was heavy-flavored and powerful. He was determined to recreate, completely and without compromise, the spirit-making methods he learned in the Scottish distilleries. The symbol of this commitment is the "Distillers' Whiskey". Straight pot stills and direct coal fired distillation. This creates a heavy, aromatic, peat base, resulting in a unique single malt with a peaty, savory aroma. This distillation method is based on the Longmorn distillery where Taketsuru himself studied. If there is a need to produce authentic whiskey, even if it is not efficient, we will follow it. This passion, which can be called the origin of Nikka Whiskey, and Masataka Taketsuru's desire to realize his dream, are still passed down to this day.
