Hanyu Distillery’s original liquor is selected as the base malt and mixed with malt liquor from multiple distilleries. . It was then matured a second time in Mizunara wood reserved barrels to create Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve whiskey.
Although the name of the distillery is kept secret, raw sake with a strong peat flavor is selected and blended at the Chichibu Distillery. This peated malt whiskey has a characteristic sweet and fruity aroma, resulting in a deep and complex taste with a diffuse peat aroma in the mouth.
In order to retain the natural flavor, this whiskey is not chilled and filtered (no chilling filtration), and no artificial coloring is added, maintaining its natural color.
Aromas of ripe fruit and chocolate are infused with oak notes, adding complexity. Dried grape-like flavors intertwined with subtle spiciness and a smooth mouthfeel. There is a lingering peat and spicy finish.
In order to retain the natural flavor, this product does not undergo cooling filtration or artificial coloring. Therefore, sedimentation or clouding may be more likely to occur than with regular products.
